Dr. Hatsumi was passed on the ancient healing teachings and scrolls (Hichi Buku Goshin jutsu) by his teacher Takamatsu Toshitsugu. This ancient tradition was originally taught alongside the martial arts, as the Yin/Yang (In/Yo) of the art, martial/Medicine.
In 1995 Dr Hatsumi took on 3 westerners as personal students to teach and pass on these ancient traditions. The Basics (Kihon) of this art was known as ANMA
After over 25 years of teaching Amatsu Medicine all over the world, Dennis Bartram and Chris Roworth have now made the basics (Kihon) of this Ancient art of therapy easily accessible to everyone.
Using footage of lessons delivered by Dr.Hatsumi to Dennis Chris and Billy over a 25 year period, we can now use a blend of Online lessons and practical to make training and becoming qualified more accessible than ever before.
ANMA became a family system in Japan, whereby all members of the family would practise to treat each others injuries, and as a preventative medicine to help maintain health and wellbeing.
"In ancient times, almost everyone in the Orient knew how to use some form of acupressure to help their family and friends through the power of touch"
Various techniques are used to release muscle tension, improve energy flow, using vulnerable points (Kyushu) Unlike most European massage, oils are rarely used, and ANMA is commonly practised fully clothed, in a variety of postures. Making it easily accessible anywhere, anytime. At home, in the dojo or even outdoors (Field medicine)
We feel there is no better time than to spread these ancient teachings to allow people to take more control of their own and their family's wellbeing.
